Love Rules
Jesus made it so clear that the first and greatest
and most consuming thing we can do is to love
God with all we have and all of who we are (Matthew
22.37). It is our desire and God’s design
to move people into the depths of a loving and
abiding relationship with Christ. Living in love
with God is the center of all that we are about
at Valley View. Love manifests itself through
the act of being a disciple: committed to community
and pouring his life out in service to others.

Be Transformed
At Valley View, we believe that the more we share
in the Christ-life on a day to day basis, the
more we are transformed (Romans 12.1 – 2).
We will become loving, focused, passionate and
intentional… we will become more like Christ.
As we become more like Christ, we will see that
His character actually becomes our own. We will
be more joy-filled and peaceful and patient. Kindness,
goodness, gentleness and a life of discipline
will define us. At Valley View, we believe that
the more we pursue a relationship with God, the
more He will transform us into the image of Christ.

Love People
Jesus actually teaches that the primary forum
for an expression of love for Him is found in
our relationships with those around us (Matthew
22.38). In fact, the Bible actually challenges
us to recognize that people will know we follow
Christ as they watch us interact with one another.
They will know us by how well we love and serve
one another. At Valley View, we are impassioned
about building an authentic community of Christ-followers
who live and move and have our being together,
in pursuit of Christ. We long to be as committed
to one another as we are to Christ. At Valley
View, we recognize that serving people is vital
to the heart of our faith.

Serve People
Jesus teaches us that a clear indicator of our
relationship with Him is our reflection of Him
in practical and tangible ways. (Matthew 25; I
John 3.17) People in need, spiritually or practically,
cross our paths every day. We will discover our
gifts and step into the fray of life tangibly
expressing the good news of God’s grace.
We have this intense opportunity to be a reflection
of the living God on a daily basis. Because that
is true, we will share in a passion to care for
the broken, hurting, poor, and marginalized in
our community, city, and beyond. At Valley View,
we will constantly look for and engage in strategies
and actions to live Christ.
